I had built a mannequin of great beauty
But she was lifeless in my small workshop
I wanted her to sing dance and stay with me
But she had never left the wastes of my frozen pad
The town of my residence was bleak and dour
So I used my pencils pastel to colour the barren sky
As I knew that this was where the angels lived
I was given a vast velvet rainbow in return
On the night before Christmas I created a rainbow dress
Out of the generous soft materials supplied
I clothed my silent mannequin with the utmost care
And slowly she came to life and began to sweetly sing
Later we danced in the halls of my celebration
And were married in the presence of all my angels
