But in Avignon 

It has showed so many movies 

That I am surprised 

 It has not caught fire 

Opposite its almost blind entrance 

There can be found 

The paintings of Madam Gerard 

Which she sells to passing tourists 

Her subjects vary little 

Flowers yellow pink blue and green 

I have one of her paintings

 In my coastal apartment 

A gift from Natalie Banks Browne 

Who is also my cousin

She too is an artist 

But has a looser brush 

And a softer palette
