I must say that I am enjoying this war

Such smart uniforms on both sides

Our uniforms are blue with silver buttons

The other chaps wear grey with gold buttons

But we are so beastly to each other

Which is rather tedious to say the least

The generals have asked us for new ideas

And I have suggested that we wear identical uniforms

For obvious reasons as we are unlikely to kill the chaps

Who we enlisted with all those Christmas’s ago

This said my suggestion came second

I received a nice prize as I am now part of a firing squad
