When I was studying at Cambridge
I shared a flat with my sister Josephine
It was a large flat in the centre of the city
With a rather strange feature
A triangular bath
Josie and I often shared this place of worship
And read our essays to each other
It was a good place to chat together
Occasionally Josie would invite a girlfriend
And we would drink champagne with cheese crackers
Whilst discussing life and other mishaps without thought
Little did we know that these were our diamond days
One of our guests is now the wife of a Labour MP
Another writes crime fiction and travel books
We occasionally cross paths and fondly reminisce
About our love of triangles both imagined and real
Josie and Sephine are back in Richmond
Whilst I am on the South Coast arranging repairs
As our yacht suffered minor damage
When we hit a piece of driftwood on our homeward journey
In a few days we will all travel to see Mummy
Where we are proposing to spend Christmas
After that we are going to Sephine’s village
To see in the new year and review our memories
