I had never lived near the sea
Far from it
I lived as far from the sea
As one could live
But I could swim
I liked the sensation of water
Against my skin
Many of my pals
Could not swim
Because we were so far from the sea
I knew that one day a great liner
Would sail across the massive cornfields
Near my home
But it would sink in a terrible storm
With a great loss of life
It comforted me to think
That I would easily survive
As I had been taught how to swim
