We both came from families
Of six sisters and two dogs
I had known Margaret Jones forever
But we never slept together
Even though we shared holidays
And sometimes bathed after long walks
It just did not seem the right thing to do
Margaret worked in a Swansea museum
Whilst I was unemployed self employed
And then she left our recent history
Without too much of a discussion
We met up from rime to rime
But mostly kept in contact by letter
And then these faded and stopped
I later found out that she had married Juliet
The exclusion was hurtful and unexplained
I still live in my home city
But have not yet met anyone special
