The Poetry of Spain

I am at the time of writing

Waiting for a ferry in Santander

The weather is cooler

Than it was in the south

I have always been in love

With Santander

Which has beautiful white beaches

And loose wild bays

Eve has decided to continue travelling

With Jean who I met again recently

I was going to change my plans

To align with their wishes

But was informed that my dog

Was dangerously ill

We have been great friends

For many years

And I would hate myself

If Indigo died without me

I still have loose plans to join Eve

As she is planning to sail with Jean

On her brothers yacht

In my wallet I have photographs

Of both girls wearing identical dresses

From the Monteery House of Fashion

Jean is considerably taller than Eve

And carries her dress very well

Whereas the flat dramatic colours

Tend to envelop Eve’s petite figure
