I am currently on holiday in Portugal

Salema to be precise

All is well with my day

My lovely wife is in the pool

She is naked

Jane always swims naturally

I am writing this very poem

On the back of a newspaper

It was to be called SSS

But I changed my mind

As there are a large number

Of Small Smiling Salamanders

Here in Salema and elsewhere

They are shy but inquisitive creatures

Who appear to enjoy a carefree existence

Jane is walking towards her towel

People are passing along the beach lane

It a a generous combination

Everyone is happy

I have now completed this poem

And am reading the sports pages

This said my coffee is now cool cold

Much to the amusement

Of the Small Smiling Salamanders
