I was a the sole crossing keeper
In the small town of Raje
It was a responsible job
Although the trains were few
I lived in the house
Which came with the job
With my wife Hilde
We were not blessed with children
So we treated our garden with love
And then slowly it ended
With the closure of the line
I was transferred to Some
Which was a far busier town
We were given a far bigger house
With an amazing garden next to the line
Yet we both pined for our quiet existence
In the small and gentle town of Raje
