The Farm

It is suggested that the farm

Is haunted by a white knight

That is pretty obvious

As all ghosts are white

How do you know that Martin

Have you ever seen a ghost

What about the Black Ghosts of Peru

You are making that one up

Maybe I am maybe not

When was our ghost last reported

In 1876 I believe

Not exactly last week then

How old is this farm

Mostly from the nineteenth century

Although some of the outbuildings are older

There also used to be the Richardson Field

Tell me more and don’t mess about

In short this was where

The Richardson family

Were laid to their eternal rest

There used to be a chapel

Over there by the trees

But it took a direct hit during the war

And was subsequently demolished

Silly question but was the white knight

From the Richardson family

I do not know as nothing is known

There are no reliable records

Apart from a newspaper report

Which noted that strange noises

Were being heard in the area of the farm

Whether the sightings of a ghost are true

One cannot tell as the Victorians

Were very fond of their ghost stories

This said in 1876 the chapel was still standing

And many of the family graves were visible

Was our farm ever owned by the Richardson’s

Yes even as late as 1932

The family retained an interest

This was the year when the farm

Was finally sold to Uncle Bill and Aunt Minnie
