Your article certainly ruffled a few feathers

My pen was only being honest

There are some things that should

Never be questioned

The poppy was chosen

For a good reason

It is simple and honest

Any fool can see that

And now one finds

White poppies

Rainbow poppies

Poppies with alien flags

That is what makes me so cross

There is no place for this corruption

I agree that some of the men who died

Might have been homosexuals

Their deaths should be remembered

Along with all of the other brave men

Not just because of their sad weakness

And deliberate ignorance of the Bible

That makes no sense at all and is offensive

The addition of a flag to the poppy is just political

It is virtue signalling at its worse and should be illegal

In all seriousness I understand the peace poppy

But why the challenge to the colour of the poppy

Like many I would like to see a world without wars

To change the colour the poppy is just a pointless exercise

We would not have had this conversation

Ten years ago

Such is the triviality of this tilt
