We Are All Pirates

We are all pirates in one way or another

As we secretly plunder for our gain

I think that I am one of the worst culprits

My motives are sometimes quite obvious

But at other times they are hidden

As I have not yet learnt to count the stars

It is very predictable and the idea is lazy

It tries to be too clever and fails dismally

Do you hate it Phillip Blue

No I can never bring myself to hate a poem 

No matter how wretched the work is

You have God in your Eyes
