Parc des Buttes Chaumont

You had a fall whilst walking in this wonderful park

We were descending a rough path when you slipped

I was a metre behind you and partially broke your fall

But you twisted your knee and this reduced you to tears

In the presence of such beauty you experienced pain

Which after I collected my thoughts I considered slowly

To you the accident was painful and so real dear Jane

But to me it was an opportunity to study beauty in the raw

I apologise for my decadent musings which are wasteful

And promise that when we return to the Butte Chaumont

That I will buy you a cool clear drink of your desire

As we sit at the dream tables of the Rosa Bonheur
