Iced Coffee Maidstone (July 1977)

After tasting the tolerant wines of Kent

My wife and I retired to a small café

In the backstreets of Maidstone

In an effort to straighten up

I accepted the offer of an iced coffee

From the benevolent owner

It was the best coffee that I had ever tasted

And holds that record to this very day

The café is long gone

But the magic taste still remains on my palate
