My Mother’s Mother

I have a framed photograph

Of my grandmother on my wall

She is posing with my mother

Who remains hidden in her pram

The photograph appears to have been taken

On a bright day perhaps summer

As my grandmother is wearing

A cotton dress and a wide brim hat

I am not sure if she was was the actual subject

Of the photograph as a stationary steam engine

Relaxes nearby with its crew busy at work

The location of this photograph has changed so much

Nothing now exists apart from the low embankment

Which is the only remaining clue that there was once a station here
