I have just fed my little cat

Which is now relaxing

In the early morning sun

Richard visited me yesterday

He brought me two books

The Collected Poems

Of Patrick Kavanagh

&

The Collected Poems

Of Emily Dickinson

He read some of their poems to me

As I am partially sighted

This was very sweet of him

As he is a very busy man

In a month I am undergoing an operation

Which will either restore

My fading night

Or do nothing at all
