My father’s father was born in Surrey in 1893 and after an unremarkable childhood found himself facing a worldwide conflict during his early twenties

He did not have any deep religious beliefs but was aware of the futility of war and became a pacifist

Nor did he want to lay his life down because of the stupidity of others

He had no argument with other men

His pacifism saw him imprisoned as a Conscientious Objector where he was treated badly which scarred him for many years

He chose to live by his pen after the war and achieved some fame as a poet

That is all nothing else

Just this hidden in a cook book

Have you ever come across Henry Wilson

It is a common name which has hindered my research

I have found nothing about Henry Wilson so far

This said I am proposing to look into prison records
