Ray Davidovich was the keeper of the Eagle Light

For nearly forty years until his retirement

But he was always haunted

By the sudden disappearance

Of his second cousin Amelia Grace

During the Great Storm of 1966

It was widely assumed that she drowned

Although there is no reliable record

Of her leaving the Eagle Light

During those terrible hours


Visitors to the now decommissioned lighthouse

Have frequently reported strange lights and sounds

As well as the aroma of deep perfumes

During organised trips to the rock


This has of late created a renewed interest

As Amelia’s identical twin Bonnie

Has reported similar lights and sounds

As well as the aromas

Of mysterious perfumes

On her remote farm in Maine
