I married Miriam on a whim

When we were both seventeen

Which was much too young

We separated two years later

Although we remained friends

Miriam moved to Glasgow in 2017

We did write but her letters soon faded

And stopped entirely without any reasons given

I knew that she had been teaching

At a private school in the city

But had been dismissed because her drug use

Which was not a surprise as her soft addictions

Were part of the reason that we split up

I do believe that Miriam is still in Glasgow

But have not spoken to or seen my wife

For over five and a half years
