Epilogue

Stephen and Vera were walking along Dover Beach

Both were looking at the teardrop moon

Which hung high in the crisp night sky

Our time here has been a happy time

With a few exceptions Vera

It has not been all plain sailing

But all good things come to an end

Matthew Arnold wrote about this beach

He probably looked at this very moon

Sometimes you know I wish

That we were on the moon

Away from all this

Just Vera and Stephen left alone

Our story was always going to be revealed

Were were not sent here to work in shops

Or be quiet schoolteachers in a coastal town

When do you think we will be asked to move

I do not know maybe tomorrow or maybe in ten years

This is all beyond our control

Do you really think that is true Stephen
