The Day That Vanished

A Haar fog forms when warm air

Moves over the cold North Sea

Causing moisture to condense

It is then carried inland on easterly winds

That is why the Haar dominated today

From the gentle warmth of Monday

To the chilled air of Wednesday

As the day matured the fog thickened

The town became almost silent

With only the streetlights showing faith

We all became featureless ghosts

A rare day not often experienced

The like unseen for many years
