We grew our hair long and tried
To forget about our comfortable past
There were no rules or ownership
We were all free or so we thought
Wes Banski was the first leave
Followed shortly after by Purple Sue
Wilma Jayne and Nelly Parks
The construction workers treated us well
And were for the most part respectful
As we were the only girls for many miles
Newton Issac was our unofficial leader
And was in charge of our money
He had been an accountant or so he said
And then one day he was not there
We had been left in our desert commune
With very little money and even less food
Cuba was no more just some shacks
Where once we had alternative dreams
Before I returned to Frisco I cut my hair
And stole some clothes from a vacant garden
I was presentable again a bit rough by presentable
My folks took me back in after a long lecture
And now I work in a real estate office
Where everybody just calls me Sally Anne
