Claribel

I know both Louth and Dover very well

Both these towns have connections

To Charlotte Alington Pye Barnard

An English poet and composer

Of ballads and hymns

Who often wrote using the pseudonym

Claribel

On the 8th of July 1847, Charlotte laid the foundation stone

Of Louth Railway Station

Which was a great honour as she was only sixteen years old

She died in Dover aged only thirty eight from typhoid fever

There is a great castle in Dover

Which overlooks the town

Louth does not have a castle

So nothing overlooks the town

I have visited Dover Castle

But have not visited Louth Castle

As it does not have a known castle

My name is Joe and I write poetry

But have yet to lay a foundation stone
