Watching the World Cup in the Villa Marguerite

Along with my brother and all of his friends 

My mother is French and my father is from Spain 

We have homes in both countries each deeply loved 

I am fluent in each language as well as English 

Yet there are times that I want to listen to the silence 

Diving and swimming alone are my much favoured pastimes 

In my bedroom I have a collection of privileged shells 

I often watch them as I sleep in the low hours before dawn
