Your mum and dad or so the poem goes
I am told that a chap named Pa Larkin
Or somebody with a similar name wrote it
In some ways I agree with this poem
As my father soon fucked off
After attacking and infecting my junkie mum
I am halfway through a three year stay
Dealing and a bit of rough and tumble thrown in
My wife is waiting for me or so she often says
She wants children but I am not that keen
As they fuck you up your mum and dad
At present I am teaching some other lags
To read and write as I really want to leave
I have scribbled part of Sonnet 18 on the wall of my cell
The other laugh and think I am queer in the head
I would not say that I fully understand these lines
But at least they bring me a comfort not easily found
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see
So long lives this and this gives life to thee
