I visited Dover Castle yesterday

The day was warm but overcast

Which gave this imposing fortress

A huge sense of permanence

Not far from where I quietly sat

Two rabid boys were throwing

The contents of their lunch boxes

At each other with a some noted aggression

When they were asked to explain themselves

They told their fast ageing teacher

That they were recreating the Battle of Sandwich
