I fell in love during my nineteenth year
But there was a complication
As Rosa was in love with another boy
Who like me worked on the building site
In time my rival began to notice
My affections towards his fiancée
He warned me to leave her alone
Which I did until his jealousy reappeared
I was threatened and told to leave the city
We exchanged blows and then he fell
This happened during the early hours
Before our site had opened its gates
I was not supposed to be there
As my mother was quite unwell
My rival fell three floors and died
Nobody knew that I had been there
My mother was sick and required my love
Although an accident my timing was perfect
My rival had been careless and had fallen
There were no witnesses present
After the observations of soft time
Rosa accepted my hand
We now have a son and daughter
I often watch them in our garden
Playing happily without many cares
But I still am haunted by my lies within
