Have you ever wondered about time travel  Would you if you could travel in time  Right past wrongs both personal and wide  Would you inhibit wars and other events  Or would you do nothing and just sit on a rock  And listen to the pleasing but hidden  Songs of Eternity  

I met you in a city park  During the days of soft pink  Two Americans lost  Not understanding history We fell in love  As strangers often do  But our paths were not smooth  As you were too intense for me  I could only guess at your circle  And the contents hidden within

The submarine Has surfaced  This is my submarine  I am on my sixth voyage  The captain has now joined me As he too  Can smell ground coffee  Deep between the waves 

Days and weeks submerged  Listening  Total silence  Always anonymous  Our Gracious Queen  Is my only book  I wear white cotton gloves  As I read  To muffle sound  This makes submarines interesting
