The Drowned Migrant

When searching for gold coins on a deserted beach

Maria Full of Love found the body of a drowned migrant

Who had not survived the fierce winter storms

She did not alert the authorities but buried the poor man where she found him

So that he might spend eternity in his adopted country

Thousands of miles from his ancient home

Cold August

The Virgin

When relaxing on the beach during the heat of summer

I often see the Virgin disrobing and swimming in the enchanted sea

She swims alone as I respect her privacy and I only lust from afar

Cold August

Drag me to this Hell my friend

I will not resist

My bloodied hands regret their fiction

The Virgin

She sits next to me quite naked on the beach

I do not ask for her forgiveness

But receive it without caution

Confessional

Primrose Cross would always wear a yellow dress

When attending confession

Mabel Cross would always wear a purple dress

When attending confession

Annie Cross would always wear a white dress

When attending confession

They would all wait patiently for the priest as he collected flowers from his ladies garden

Confessional

Walter Cross would always wear a sombre suit

When attending confession

William Cross would always wear a musical suit

When attending confession

Alfred Cross would always wear a tattered suit

When attending confession

They would all wait patiently for the priest as he collected alms from his ladies garden

Lourdes

I came here for a cure

An understanding of my wretched condition

But I found only oblivion

I cannot even crawl towards your shrine

As I am totally immobile

But I share a sacred name

Which is an exhibition of your love
