I have lived next to level crossing<\/p>\n
Since the age of thirteen<\/p>\n
It is policed by automatic barriers<\/p>\n
And apart from a couple of incidents<\/p>\n
Nothing major has really happened<\/p>\n
That was until the last day of May<\/p>\n
When a motorcyclist ran the barriers<\/p>\n
And was hit by a train and killed<\/p>\n
I did not see the tragic accident<\/p>\n
As I was in Southern Spain<\/p>\n
At a tennis tournament<\/p>\n
But my cat who was in the front garden<\/p>\n
Witnessed everything and was traumatised<\/p>\n
Foe some weeks afterwards as he knew the victim<\/p>\n
Like me he too had a cat which he called Brown Sugar<\/p>\n
It was called Brown Sugar because of its colouring and sweet disposition<\/p>\n
My cat is called Betty she is grey and white and has a chewed ear<\/p>\n
At present I am sitting Brown Sugar as the victim of the accident<\/p>\n
Had no known living relatives apart from a sister in Australia<\/p>\n
Betty and Brown Sugar get on well and often sit in the front garden<\/p>\n
Contemplating the accident and discussing the odds against a similar incident<\/p>\n
