{"id":11095,"date":"2022-06-21T18:32:59","date_gmt":"2022-06-21T17:32:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stuartpoetry.art\/?p=11095"},"modified":"2022-06-21T18:34:33","modified_gmt":"2022-06-21T17:34:33","slug":"fin-de-lhiver-debut-de-lete","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/21\/fin-de-lhiver-debut-de-lete\/","title":{"rendered":"Fin de l&#8217;hiver D\u00e9but de l&#8217;\u00e9t\u00e9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Alicia Poems<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Alicia and the Gas Pumps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alicia is standing by the gas pumps<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Awaiting the first customer of the day<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But no-one stops<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She considers this odd<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alicia is the only strawberry blond<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this the county of the cornfields<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Alicia in the Cornfields<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a fit of pique<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alicia bleached and cropped her wonderful hair<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She then disappeared into the cornfields<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And could not be found<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Alicia and her Summer Dress\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alicia is standing by the gas pumps<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In her finest summer dress<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But no-one stops<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She considers this odd<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As June is the warmest month<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this the county of the cornfields<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Alicia\u2019s Gaze<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As winter sank slowly into a gentle spring<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alicia trapped early butterflies in her homing jar<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She used the colourful dusts<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From their tender young wings<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To highlight the sorrow of her gaze<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Oh Superman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Tired after swimming with the detritus of mankind<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Polly Polly who sat in her Folly was sitting on grassy bank that overlooked the thin spring sin stream<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her friend Gabriel was standing in the waters which reached up to her narrow waist<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I towel myself by the edge of this pool<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>But I am contaminated<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I consider this as I look towards the mountains\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gabriel was sitting on grassy bank that overlooked the thin spring sin stream<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her friend Polly Polly who sat in her Folly was standing in the waters which reached up to her narrow waist<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>He will return<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I realise that he prizes his solitude above all things<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>But he will return<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Oh Superman\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alicia Poems &nbsp;
