Everything is ready<\/p>\n

As the procession enters the church<\/p>\n

The bride splendid in her wedding dress<\/p>\n

Stands under the white glass window<\/p>\n

And looks at her father<\/p>\n

\u201cChrist awaits you at the altar\u201d I<\/i> whisper<\/p>\n

She casts me a momentary smile as she passes<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Behind the rood screen<\/p>\n

I see her kneeling deep in prayer<\/p>\n

Partially hidden by a blue display of flowers<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Quiet words break the sanctuary of peace<\/p>\n

And all is still apart from the sunlight<\/p>\n

That dances merrily in the shadows<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Soon the oak framed bells<\/p>\n

Ring their greeting<\/p>\n

And she emerges<\/p>\n

Standing with pride under the clock tower<\/p>\n

Where Isabella still keeps time<\/p>\n

As she has always done<\/p>\n
