{"id":12509,"date":"2023-01-21T16:29:39","date_gmt":"2023-01-21T16:29:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.co.uk\/?p=12509"},"modified":"2023-01-21T16:29:39","modified_gmt":"2023-01-21T16:29:39","slug":"the-photographers-wife","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/2023\/01\/21\/the-photographers-wife\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>The Photographer&#8217;s Wife<\/strong>\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stan&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I trust that you are okay and are missing me like mad<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How is Lincoln&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a splendid city&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank&nbsp;you for lending me your railway book&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which is a fascinating read<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a photograph inside that I really relate to&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was taken on the 12th of July 1931<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the Golf Links Halt&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the Rye and Camber Tramway&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And shows a young woman&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only four days shy of her wedding<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Waiting patiently&nbsp;for a train&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My researches indicate that her name was Kathleen Goose&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who was about to marry Henry Casserley the famous railway photographer&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is calm almost serene photograph&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She is sitting on a wooden bench&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next to a corrugated iron station&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This lonely station is surrounded by low fields&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With equally sparse&nbsp;telegraph poles&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accompanying the single track quietly into the distance&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One can almost feel the gentle heat of that summer&#8217;s day&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This seems to be a land of plenty&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But within a decade war had returned&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the&nbsp;tramway was requisitioned by the military in 1939<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It never reopened although the station building still survives&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps on a hot day next summer&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We can walk to this remote station which is not far from Rye&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So that you might photograph&nbsp;me there&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the wife of the photographer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Was caught all those years ago&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Times passes&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time remain still<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time is captured<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time is released&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am missing you greatly and I know that you are missing me&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is raining here again and the winds are quite insolent&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is it raining in Lincoln or are you too busy to notice&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My gentle naughty but busy boy&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do ring me tonight and tell me about your day&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I look forward to our future adventures&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jane x&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stan&nbsp;
