My wife and I were camping <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Thistledown Common <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We were snug and naked <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In our joint sleeping bag <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our aim was to photograph <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dawn breaking her night colour <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And painting the skies passion <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But that did not happen <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As we were awoken by a helicopter<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which was hovering above us <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The down draft blew our clothes <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That had been drying on a line <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Into the infinity of the future <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To make matters worse motorbikes <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Were being released on parachutes <\/p>\n\n\n\n
High above us with a careless abandon <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rosy and I fled our tent in a panic<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fearing that these great machines <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Would crush the life from our bones <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As we were alone we did not cover our modesty<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And were further amazed when the motorbikes <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Changed into bicycles as they drifted downwards <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was then that we realised that we were not alone <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As we were naked in the centre of a busy carnival <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We made a run for our tent but it was being used <\/p>\n\n\n\n
By a group of doctors dispensing vaccines pennyeach <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A women smiled at me as she cycled past <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And her husband enquired of the tattoo on Rosy’s bum <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As it was an obscure quotation written in Early Latin<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To add to our confusion my camera<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Started talking to us both <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was recording all our images<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Good and bad <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A dream is a dream and only a dream <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our brittle alarm clock was earning its keep <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And was slowly arousing us from our mysterious sleep<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We were snug in each others arms but slowly dressed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And scrambled out of our lonely tent <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gasping at once at the morning light<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That was so very beautiful bold and bright <\/p>\n\n\n\n
