Warm days in November are quite rare and it was with gratitude that Rachel and Richard set off for the big city<\/p>\n
They visited the cathedral and the shops and ended their day at the Gallery of Modern Art which was hosting an exhibition entitled 1x2x3<\/p>\n
Later tired but fulfilled they sat in a caf\u00e9 opposite the railway station drinking tea<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything lapses into abstraction eventually\u201d <\/i>Richard said quietly<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no abstraction in this cup of tea\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cThere is but you are not sensing it\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cDefine sensing if you would Richard\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cEach day is abstract it is just that we have to make sense of it otherwise we would go quite mad\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
A steam engine and a rake of eight carriages flew past the caf\u00e9 and ascended towards the stars in the darkening November sky<\/p>\n
Rachel idly watched the train disappear and smiled<\/p>\n
\u201cThen we should go to the hardware store and purchase paints of many colours and decorate the sea whilst the weather is still warm\u201d \u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
