{"id":13332,"date":"2023-03-13T16:38:11","date_gmt":"2023-03-13T16:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.co.uk\/?p=13332"},"modified":"2023-03-13T19:20:07","modified_gmt":"2023-03-13T19:20:07","slug":"joe-is-blessed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/2023\/03\/13\/joe-is-blessed\/","title":{"rendered":"Joe is Blessed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About twenty years ago I found myself on Chippenham Railway Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> I soon spotted an elderly nun struggling with a suitcase that was almost bigger than her.<br><br>As the station did not have porters and I was the only chap around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> I offered to take the nuns suitcase over the footbridge towards the station forecourt.<br><br>This lovely nun explained that she was from a convent somewhere in the North-East and had accepted an invitation to visit some of her Wiltshire Sisters.<br><br>As there were no taxis I ordered one to take her to the convent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was just as the cab arrived that the nun placed her frail hand on mine and blessed me.<br><br>This made me happy but I soon forgot about it.<br><br> A few minutes later I found myself crossing a very busy road not far from the station.<br><br>Normally I am a very careful Joe but on this occasion I made the fatal mistake of crossing blindly from behind an illegally parked van.<br><br>I walked straight into the path of a Range Rover which slammed its brakes on and stopped only a couple on inches from me.<br><br>After apologising for my incredible stupidity I went to sit down on a bench as the whole thing had shaken me up.<br><br>It was then that I remembered the elderly nuns recent blessing and I felt greatly loved.<br><br> Joe<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About twenty years ago I found myself on Chippenham Railway Station.
