Dearest Lyonesse <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is late summer now and the days are becoming deeper<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our beach hours are becoming less frequent <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yet the East Kent light is even more perfect <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Than I am ever sourced to imagine <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the coming months the beach <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Will wear its austere winter’s coat <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the romance of this summer <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Will be a just a fond memory <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But that is not my news <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My news is that of stupidity <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I have broken my phone <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is grievously injured <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Awaiting I would consider<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Slow Death <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It slipped out of my pocket<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I sat down and was crushed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Against the ancient pebbles <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first I thought I had damaged its facade<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I soon became aware that the plasma <\/p>\n\n\n\n
(I trust that this is the right word my friend) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Had been mortally wounded <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My phone now lies on the table <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which has views towards the sea <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is still functioning but its power is shallow <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The absurdity of the situation <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Appeals to me but I do question <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Why we tend to injure <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those who are closest to us <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whether intentionally or not <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fondness <\/p>\n\n\n\n
