The air is getting heavier<\/p>\n
And you can feel the sweat building<\/p>\n
Under the straps of your cotton dress<\/p>\n
You remove your sandals<\/p>\n
As you want to feel the warm platform<\/p>\n
Beneath your feet<\/p>\n
Everything is still apart from the gathering breeze<\/p>\n
Which betrays its parents<\/p>\n
You are glad of it<\/p>\n
And close your eyes<\/p>\n
Imaging ships from the<\/p>\n
Royal China Seas \u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n
On the nearby river<\/p>\n
I am the captain of one of these ships<\/p>\n

I abandon my ship<\/p>\n
And let it drift aimlessly<\/p>\n
Towards the sea<\/p>\n
I run across the dry meadows<\/p>\n
And with care cross the lines<\/p>\n
You are still asleep<\/p>\n
I lay on the low platform<\/p>\n
Watching you<\/p>\n
There is distant rumble<\/p>\n
And then a flash<\/p>\n
The express is approaching the station<\/p>\n
The noise wakes you<\/p>\n
But you do not see me<\/p>\n
And wave at my brother<\/p>\n
As he passes at great speed<\/p>\n
Through the station<\/p>\n
Raindrops the size of coins<\/p>\n
Start to inhibit the platform<\/p>\n
And you run for shelter<\/p>\n
Another small blue and grey train arrives<\/p>\n
I kiss you lightly on your cheek<\/p>\n
As you continue your journey<\/p>\n
Your dress is damp to the touch<\/p>\n
And the rain runs down your bare arms<\/p>\n
You are carrying your sandals<\/p>\n
These are the memories<\/p>\n
I will retain as I hunt my errant ship<\/p>\n
