I suppose that I should be called a nerd <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I have a great love of the railways <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I especially love the stations <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But of late I have begun to get very angry <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With those who seek to spoil them <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I am not talking about the vandals <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who should be arrested and castrated on the spot <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The people who I dislike are the wheelchair users <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As they are beginning to change everything <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They whinge about this that and this again and again <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My local station used to have a beautiful Victorian footbridge<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But slowly the crips spoilt it for the many people <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who loved this lovely bridge and finally <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was replaced with a modern bridge complete with lifts <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sadly many people who use wheelchairs and the like <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seem to take their frustrations and anger out on others <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I see it frequently during my travels and this causes prejudice<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My mother who spent many years in a wheelchair <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Never complained once as it is not a perfect world <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is never going to be a perfect world <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She in her youth used to walk a great deal <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the Highlands and in other beautiful areas <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I asked her about her thoughts <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her reply was so very simple <\/p>\n\n\n\n
You are not owed a thing so why spoil things <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For other people by gathering together like plagues of locust<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I agreed with her fully a sensible voice in the darkness<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently a ugly crip wrote to a local paper noting <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That the coastal path was not wheelchair friendly <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is because it is a rough coastal path my dear <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And as with the Highlands and other places <\/p>\n\n\n\n
God did not make them wheelchair friendly <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Remember when you go to heaven <\/p>\n\n\n\n
You will not be able to take your wheelchair there <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I almost wanted to write to this whinging crip <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And tell her to get a life and not to spoil <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Things for others more able than themselves <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I stopped myself as this would damage me <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I no longer use my local railway station <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the vacancy of where my beautiful bridge <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Used to be angers me beyond sensible thought
