It blew me out of the water when I first saw it
This is from near the end of the movie shortly after Aguirre’s daughter is murdered by the savages in the jungle
He is aware but not aware that she is dead
Such is his madness
The final scenes of this movie are some of the bleakest
That cinema has ever produced
Drifting on a raft with the dead and dying
Small monkeys invading every space
I always think of Kurtz when I watch these scenes
The Horror The Horror
Kurtz ultimately was changed by the jungle.
At first he wanted to bring civilization to the natives
But by the end it seems he wants to exterminate them.
