Well our parents certainly did not fuck us up <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everything we are is because of them <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And our mother still influences us even now <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both of us are still grieving for my father <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which is only natural <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I can see what Larkin was saying <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wonder what he would have made of the disorder <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has even occurred in Hull <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was always going to happen <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This country has been smoking near petrol for too long <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am only thankful that serious weapons have not been used <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was only ever going to take a spark <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the dreadful has become the new norm <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like many I am deeply ashamed of this country <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have travelled around the northern counties recently <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And have quite easily sensed the resentment<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That this decay has caused <\/p>\n\n\n\n
People are tired of being shit upon and then having it rubbed in <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The media egged on by the government is playing the blame game <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which is only making things worse<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is required is a return to basics <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Very serious mistakes have been made for a number of years <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Try to understand your country and what makes it tick <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is not hard is it but this polluted by malignant thought <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I have noted before this country is (and has been) run by cowards since the days of Mrs Thatcher<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I do hope that things do not get out of control as that will serve no purpose <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But things need to change and people need to see them change <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am currently in Henley on Thames with my dear mother <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is so calm here and no rioters can be seen <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This said a small boy left his plastic coke bottle on a wooden bench <\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is the world coming to I despair <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And yes I will pick up the bottle as I leave and deposit it in the bin <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Problem solved Henley is looking beautiful again <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This lovely town is obviously doing something right<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I would have liked to have met Larkin <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think we might have had an interesting conversation
