My father was a window cleaner<\/p>\n
He cleaned windows in my home town and the surrounding villages for over forty years<\/p>\n
During the war he was stationed in India and when on leave visited the Taj Mahal<\/p>\n

For when he returned from his war<\/p>\n
All he could speak about<\/p>\n
Was the eternal candle<\/p>\n
Which had been lit in the memory of Mumtaz Mahal<\/p>\n
By her loving husband<\/p>\n
For many years<\/p>\n
My father searched for the eternal candle<\/p>\n
But he never found it<\/p>\n
After his death I arranged to have a candle lit in his memory<\/p>\n
And to this day it burns brightly<\/p>\n
Beneath the decorated windows<\/p>\n
Of his home church<\/p>\n
