A few week ago I returned to St Greg’s <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which was my local ghetto church <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Sixth Point Gothic Church <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Was in the rough part of town <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It even had its own scaffold <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Near the lychgate <\/p>\n\n\n\n
None of its silver had survived the years <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everything was made out of clay<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I spoke to curate as the vicar was still in hospital <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recovering from his stab wounds <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The curate after showing me his gun collection<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asked about the occasion of my visit <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I told him that I had read in the Sun <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That the church was giving away money <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because of the Queen Anne something <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was politely told that there was a small problem <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This confused me so I enquired about the inhibition <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The curate asked about my family history <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My mum bless her soul was from Stoke <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I never knew my Icelandic father <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He then took me by my pale hand <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was not eligible to receive these alms of guilt <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As my skin was quite white and I had a double first <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I protested that although I was not sold into slavery <\/p>\n\n\n\n
By the chief of our jungle village <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That I was indeed related <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To a creature dark of colour <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was then I showed him Eva <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who had been shitting on a grave <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The curate made a fuss of my black bitch <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who then bit him <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He bowed his head in a Christlike way<\/p>\n\n\n\n
