{"id":2567,"date":"2016-08-28T09:24:25","date_gmt":"2016-08-28T09:24:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stuartmillerosborne.co.uk\/?p=2567"},"modified":"2016-08-28T09:26:24","modified_gmt":"2016-08-28T09:26:24","slug":"paper-trees-in-an-acid-sea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/2016\/08\/28\/paper-trees-in-an-acid-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"Paper Trees in an Acid Sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Peter Piper was the coxswain of the Peneth lifeboat<\/p>\n<p>In his twenty-five years of service he and his crew had saved many lives<\/p>\n<p>But many others had drowned<\/p>\n<p><i>The sea is a harsh mistress <\/i><\/p>\n<p>He would often say to people in the town<\/p>\n<p><i>She is often friendly but has a terrible temper when angered <\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>She is a harsh mistress<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He would often say to people in the town<\/p>\n<p>On the 5<sup>th<\/sup> of November the first real storm of the autumn was brewing in the Atlantic<\/p>\n<p>The skies were growing darker and both the lighthouses were showing warning beams<\/p>\n<p>Peter was sitting in his lounge in his harbour side cottage with his wife Rosie<\/p>\n<p>A long running game show was being shown on the television<\/p>\n<p>It was called<\/p>\n<p><i>Name that Sound <\/i><\/p>\n<p>It was shown every Saturday evening live from the studios in London<\/p>\n<p>Sixteen miles away the <i>Madame Caravaggio<\/i> was heading towards the Tower Rocks<\/p>\n<p>There had been a fire in her engine room and she was losing power<\/p>\n<p>Two members of the crew were dead<\/p>\n<p>The rest were listening to a football match on the <i>Kiss Kiss Radio<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The smiling host of the game show pressed a large button<\/p>\n<p>A red disc and two blue discs appeared<\/p>\n<p><i>Name that Sound<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The younger of the two contestants lifted a yellow card<\/p>\n<p><i>Two squirrels on a winters path <\/i><\/p>\n<p>The game show host hesitated and looked directly into the camera<\/p>\n<p><i>If your name is Peter Piper please raise your hand <\/i><\/p>\n<p>Peter raised his hand<\/p>\n<p><i>I have a message for you <\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>What is the message?
