Our doctor and his daughter were also there<\/p>\n
As well as my brother\u2019s sister<\/p>\n
We sat alone near the rocks at the end of the beach<\/p>\n

That is unusual for this time of year <\/i><\/p>\n
Fool it is always warm at this time of the year <\/i><\/p>\n
I joined my sister in the clear waters that led to the Murnow Delta<\/p>\n
A northerly mermaid appeared<\/p>\n

My name is Lola <\/i><\/p>\n
But just call me Lola <\/i><\/p>\n
Join me on the rocks in half a day and I shall tell you<\/i><\/p>\n

As we returned to our home through the ripening cornfields<\/p>\n
I pondered on what the mermaid had told me<\/p>\n
Mermaids cannot take saunas<\/p>\n
They are too dry and could corrode their scales<\/p>\n

Do not worry the local toughies caught and lynched my attacker <\/i><\/p>\n
I cleaned her wound and called for assistance from my sisters<\/p>\n
Soon she was tucked safely in bed<\/p>\n
In the hotel that my family owned<\/p>\n

That evening I went to the beach and found the corpse of the attacker dangling from a tree<\/p>\n
Fearing contamination I doused the corpse with petrol<\/p>\n
And set the tree alight<\/p>\n
I did not recognise the attacker<\/p>\n
His origins were not local and I wondered what had caused him to attack a beautiful mermaid<\/p>\n
As the fire consumed him he opened one eye and said<\/p>\n
It was not me but the mythical monsters <\/i><\/p>\n
But I gladly took the blame as I admire them so \u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
I waited until the attacker and the tree were piles of charred ash<\/p>\n
My sister appeared<\/p>\n

She stared at the ashes of her assailant<\/p>\n

That evening I constructed a time machine in the sauna<\/p>\n

I found Lola’s attacker quite easily in the backstreets of the main city<\/p>\n

Who on my command ripped the poor man apart in a parking lot<\/p>\n
In my haste to return to the present<\/p>\n
I left the mythical monster<\/p>\n
At the scene of our crime<\/p>\n
This haunted me<\/p>\n
As I knew that the mythical monster would want revenge<\/p>\n
The following day I met the mermaid on the beach and told her what I had done<\/p>\n
She insisted that I returned to the hotel and wait for her<\/p>\n
At four in the afternoon she entered my room<\/p>\n
And we made love watched by eight of my sisters<\/p>\n
But I did not impregnate her as she was barren<\/p>\n
I knew the reason why but was scared to return to the parking lot<\/p>\n
As I knew that the mythical monster would be waiting for me<\/p>\n
So I did nothing and watched as Lola grew more and more beautiful<\/p>\n

At first nothing happened but slowly my enemy began to hollow<\/p>\n
As my final bolt wrecked its eye I saw it fall<\/p>\n

I lay in bed with four of my sisters<\/p>\n
They were feeding me<\/p>\n
I looked at my body<\/p>\n
The scars had retreated<\/p>\n
