Who she instantly loved <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was very kind <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And treated her well <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They went to the nicest of places <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But he never took advantage <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And was genuinely shocked <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When she went topless <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On a beach holiday in Crete<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They married simply <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a rural church <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just before the war <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adam joined up and became a pilot <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which Marigold hated <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She prayed a great deal <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And God answered her prayers <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Adam was promoted<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Away from the skies <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Marigold was God Happy <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She had always been God Happy <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even though wars <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Were being fought in his name<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bernice and Bertie arrived <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the final year of the conflict<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The good guys had won hands down <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And things slowly returned to normal <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adam had done his duty <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Marigold had done her bit <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She knew that God was again happy <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And because God was happy she was happy <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The world although wounded was recovering <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sunflowers and cornflowers had returned in abundance <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Linnets and larks flew tunefully in the peaceful skies <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And brightly painted wheelbarrows <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Were now appearing in the village<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They had been created from the remains <\/p>\n\n\n\n
