Over thirty years ago I worked at a bookstall on Royal Oak Underground Station<\/p>\n
Although I served a large number of people<\/p>\n
I never served Ricky Martin<\/p>\n
Today I revisited the station<\/p>\n
A lot has changed<\/p>\n
The bookstall is now closed<\/p>\n
But can still be seen<\/p>\n
With its shutters down<\/p>\n
The small booking area has been enlarged and is now a great hall<\/p>\n
And the Victorian graffiti can be seen above the entrance to the station<\/p>\n
Previously it had been hidden by a false ceiling<\/p>\n
Steam trains bound for Doncaster still stop at the station<\/p>\n
Although the ventilation of their steam remains a problem<\/p>\n
The road outside once busy has been truncated and is very quiet<\/p>\n
This is a little sad as it was once so vibrant<\/p>\n
Tonight Ricky Martin is in concert in the great hall<\/p>\n
I have purchased a number of tickets which I am currently giving away<\/p>\n
