High above the Skriffen Roks<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A solitary bungalow stands alone<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From a distance it looks empty <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But it is in fact a holiday home <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I stayed there with my wife <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Five summers ago as we required a break <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the bungalow seems remote <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lights of other coastal towns <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Can be seen in the distance <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which dilutes its immediate remoteness <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was told by the then owner <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That a woman in a yellow dress <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Can be seen on the Roks at low tide <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She appears to be collecting pebbles and shells <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But nobody knows who she is <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports of drownings and restless ghosts <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Are heard from time to time <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But these lack substance and are not believed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like many I saw nothing out of the ordinary <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being tidal the area can be dangerous and is best avoided<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During our stay Nan and I painted a great deal<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And admired the spectacular light of the North Sea <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are planning to visit the bungalow again this summer<\/p>\n\n\n\n
