If there was a hospital in Scarborough <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was there in intensive care <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wired up to the national grid <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I had collapsed without cause <\/p>\n\n\n\n
An ambulance was summoned <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A heart attack a stroke or just the hotel coffee <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cause was unknown <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From my bed I could see Frank and Stella <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stella was weeping silently and holding Frank’s hand <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was then that I realised that the whole thing <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Had been an elaborate practical joke <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From that moment onwards I began to improve <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They kicked me out after a couple of days <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Low\/High Blood pressure was the cause supposedly <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was given some violet pills and told to rest <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I am fond of practical jokes I was not angry <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indeed I suppressed a impulse to laugh <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was now staying in a very low hotel in Beverley <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not far from the Minster in an ornate room <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Frank and Stella were in the adjoining room <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They could do enough for me <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guilt is a wonderful word <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stella had given me a brown envelope <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And had told me not to open it <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Until I felt strong enough to do so <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am intrigued<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It does not feel like a pornographic <\/p>\n\n\n\n
