In their way they are outstanding <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rough but totally original <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They are nothing like any other cave paintings <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Found over the last few centuries <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Describe them to me <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This may surprise you <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the images were highly sexual <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They appear to be celebrating orgies <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And are in their way highly detailed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everybody seems to be fucking each other <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are no parameters even animals are involved <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When were these paintings first discovered <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1834 by a Swiss explorer named Muller <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Did they cause a stir due to the content <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Very much but the discovery was soon hushed up <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within the year the cave was sealed up by the church <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was recorded and slowly forgotten about <\/p>\n\n\n\n
What about Muller <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was paid for his silence <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But he wrote some poems <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One especially interested me <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Walls of Paradise <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It describes a Jesuit priest<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Discovering the cave <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And using it as a place of sin <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However it was never completed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And wrongly attributed to another poet <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is also known as <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cave of the Fireflies <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have a copy of this poem <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On my wooden desk <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please read it to me <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is in German <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I do not read German very well <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My German is stronger <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It roughly reads <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This magical cave is illuminated <\/p>\n\n\n\n
By God’s forgotten creatures <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who have been contaminated <\/p>\n\n\n\n
By dreadful tales of sin <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is that all <\/p>\n\n\n\n
More or less <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are a couple of dates <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And some crude sketches <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the poem gives no clue <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As to the location of the cave <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do you know where the cave is <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes I am aware of its location <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Will you take me there <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In time yes <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Will the cave paintings shock me <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is the world ready for these paintings <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Time will tell Claudine <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But whether the world is ready <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is open to question <\/p>\n\n\n\n
